Kyllä vain

Liardissa Kanadan seuraava suuri kaasuresurssi?

Apache:
In northern British Columbia, Canada, Apache has validated an outstanding new shale play in the Liard Basin with net estimated sales gas of 48 trillion cubic feet of natural gas (8 billion Boe) across 430,000 acres held with a 100-percent working interest. The resource estimate at Liard is based on recent drilling, test results and earlier well control points. "The D-34-K well is one of the best shale wells we've seen in any play," Farris said. "Our analysis indicates that the formation characteristics are remarkably consistent across this large basin."
Merkkaako jotain SOGille?

Apache Reports Exploratory Success in the Whittenburg Basin in the Texas Panhandle

"HOUSTON, Feb. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Apache Corporation (NYSE, Nasdaq: APA) today reported encouraging results in its exploratory drilling program in the emerging Whittenburg Basin play in the Texas Panhandle. Five of six initial vertical tests were completed as oil producers in the Canyon Wash interval.

Apache has leased or purchased approximately 96,000 net acres in the Bivins Ranch area, a 200-square-mile block in Hartley, Oldham, Potter and Moore counties, and operates all leases, most with 73.5-percent working interests. The block is immediately south of the prolific Panhandle Dolomite field and north of two 25-well Canyon Wash fields."

Apache's new producing wells in the Bivins Ranch area include:

  • The Bivins-LIT 3-2 averaged 1,001 barrels of oil and 839 thousand cubic feet (Mcf) per day from 80 feet of pay during the first 30 days of production.
  • The Bivins-LIT 28-2 averaged 315 barrels of oil and 123 Mcf from 140 feet of pay for the first 30 days of production.
  • The Bivins-LIT 115-1 averaged 175 barrels of oil and 97 Mcf from 231 feet of net pay for the first 30 days of production.
  • The recently completed Bivins-LIT 4-3 has been on production less than a week; it is currently producing 137 barrels of oil and 105 Mcf of gas from 150 feet of pay.
  • The Bivins-West 219-2 has averaged 107 barrels of oil and 42 Mcf per day from 50 feet of pay during the first 21 days of production.

Blokki on yhtenäinen, joten Apache on todennäköisesti saanut koko resurssin suurelta osin haltuunsa.

"YPF in twin Neuquen strikes"

YPF in twin Neuquen strikes

YPF, the Argentinian arm of Spanish-based Repsol, has made two unconventional shale discoveries in the Neuquen region in central Argentina, according to local reports.

Kathrine Schmidt 08 August 2011 16:44 GMT

The deposit in the Vaca Muerta formation was found at depth betweeh between 2775 and 2966 metres near the Patagonian town of Añelo, the Diario Rio Negro newspaper reported.

The Neuquen province undersecretary for hydrocarbons said the well could produce between 425 barrels per day of oil (67.7 cubic metres) and 37,104 cubic metres per day of gas.

Energy officials also confirmed another discovery in the region about 30 kilometres north-west of Añelo.

Also in the Vaca Muerta formation, this discovery was found at a depth between 2724 and 2850 metres. It is expected to produce 266.6 bpd (42.2. cmpd) of oil and 7.512 mcmd of gas.

In that project, YPF has a 70% interest, the regional company Gas y Petróleo de Neuquén (G&P) 15% and Rovella Energia 15%.

The discovery came on the heels of another nearby find from by Apache made public in mid-July.

Hogshooter Wash

Tämä on reilun kuukauden vanha:

Apache's First Hogshooter Granite Wash Wells Producing At More Than 2,000 BO/d

Apache Corp., Houston, (NYSE; Nasdaq: APA) reports that the first two horizontal wells targeting the Hogshooter segment of the Granite Wash play in the Anadarko Basin have each commenced production at rates exceeding 2,000 barrels of oil per day (BO/d).

The Hogshooter wash is shallower, younger and more oil-prone than previous Granite Wash targets in western Oklahoma and in the Texas Panhandle. The two wells were drilled more than 15 miles apart in Beckham County, Okla., near the east/west axis of the Granite Wash play. The distance between the wells points to meaningful potential in the Hogshooter segment across a broad area. Apache controls 200,000 gross acres in the Granite Wash play and leased nearly 30,000 net acres in 2010.

Edler #1-5, in Section 5 of Township 11N-20 W in Beckham County, commenced production at a daily rate of 2,050 barrels of oil and 3.7 million cubic feet (MMcf) of gas. The well was drilled to a vertical depth of approximately 11,360 feet with a 4,360-foot horizontal section before it was completed in eight stages. Apache owns an 82% interest in the well.

Thetford #4-23, in Section 23 of Township 11N-23W in Beckham County, initially produced 2,100 barrels of oil and 3.2 MMcf of gas per day. It was drilled to a vertical depth of approximately 10,900 feet with a 4,280-foot horizontal section and then completed in nine stages. Apache owns a 56% interest in the well.

After almost two months on production, each of the wells is averaging approximately 700 barrels of oil and 3.5 MMcf of gas per day.

Apache currently is operating nine horizontal rigs in the Granite Wash play and plans to drill a third horizontal Hogshooter well by year-end. For 2011, the company currently plans to add a tenth horizontal rig and drill more than 40 horizontal Granite Wash wells, including 10 in the oil-rich Hogshooter. Over the past year, Apache has completed 19 Granite Wash horizontal wells with current aggregate net production of 2,600 barrels of oil and 40 MMcf of gas per day. Seven wells are awaiting completion.

Granite Wash kaivot tuolla ovat todella komeita: IP:t(24h)20-30 miljoonan kuutiojalan edestä kaasua ja nesteitä. Hogwash näyttäisi olevan selvästi öljyisempi. Noita Washeja on tuolla puolen tusinaa päällekkäin.

Forest on näköjään listaamassa Kanadan toiminnot erilliseen yhtiöön.

Dayrate dispute may end in court
"A dispute over dayrates for Deepsea Atlantic will end in court after Odfjell Drilling has filed a claim to get payment from Statoil"

"Two drillings resulted in damages to wellheads at the seabed. Statoil says they were caused because the enormous rig is not suited for drilling at shallow depths. The rig is supposed to be able to drill at depths of 70 metres, but Statoil says it doesn't function at 100 metres"

Öljyn löytäminen Irakista ja Kurdistanista näyttää olevan naurettavan helppoa. Haastavaa tuolla on varmaankin lähinnä pienien kenttien löytäminen kaikkien löydettyjen koko kun näyttää olevan vähintään olifantti-luokkaa.

Viimeinen linkki ei liity öljyyn, vaan on musiikkia. Ambientia. Sopii mielestäni hyvin auringonlaskun ja nousun väliselle ajalle.

Inkkari astumassa käytävälle, kaasuako haistaa vai öljyäkö aistii

Apache farms in to Canadian shale
"US independent Apache has signed a deal to farm in to Canadian junior Corridor Resources for acreage in the Frederick Brook shale play and the Caledonia light oil play in southern New Brunswick..."

Corridorissa minua on kiinnostanut tämä(vuoden 2008 joulukuulta):

Corridor Discovers Oil at South Branch G-36
"The second frac was conducted in a 38 meter thick sand within the depth interval 1574 - 1612 meters in the upper Hiram Brook formation. The frac placed 30 tonnes of proppant prior to being prematurely concluded due to a frozen water line which may have reduced the effectiveness of the frac. Following 10 days of flow-back and clean-up of frac fluids, the well was flowing clean, 45° API oil and no water at a measured rate of 59 barrels of oil per day through production tubing"

Öljy-prospectia ei ole viety eteen päin tuon kaivon jälkeen juuri lainkaan ilmeisesti lähinnä taloudellisista syistä. Kyse voi olla pienestä ei-kaupallisesta läiskästä.
