ZEX tiedottaa

Zodiac Provides Update on Operations in California

CALGARY, ALBERTA – Zodiac Exploration Inc. (“Zodiac” or the “Company”) (TSX VENTURE: ZEX)announces that based on further analysis of engineering and geological data from its 4-9 vertical test well, the Company has upgraded the Kreyenhagen formation to a primary target.

As previously reported, following a 24 ton fracture stimulation over a 30 foot siltstone interval in the Kreyenhagen formation, the 4-9 well flowed 29° API oil at an average rate of 24 bbls/day over a 9 day period prior to the well being shut in for a build up test. The pressure test analysis indicated significant skin (formation) damage of approximately +13, which the Company believes can be addressed by optimizing stimulation procedures in future wells. The Inflow Performance Relationship (IPR) derived from the well test analysis demonstrated that a rate of 120 bbls per day could potentially be achieved with a pressure drawdown of 60% and the removal of formation damage from +13 to 0. The reservoir is overpressured with 12,800 psi reservoir pressure and a gradient of approximately 0.9 psi per foot. Porosity and permeability values derived from well log analysis indicate effective siltstone porosity ranging between 10 to 13%, with permeability ranging between 0.4 and 3.0 millidarcies.

120 tynnyrin teoreettinen kapasiteetti olisi kai ok.
Maassa on kuitenkin hyvin paljon öljyä mikä on erinomainen lähtökohta.

Nimin päivitys

Tämä julkaistiin jo maanantaina:

Pleito Creek CMD

Production of the H-2 well at the Pleito Creek Field in Kern County, California continues to increase and is now at a rate of 160 barrels of oil per day ("bopd"). The current rate of 160 bopd is 20 bopd above the initial production rate and is 107 bopd above the natural decline rate that would have been expected without response from the CMD process. Production from the H-3 well is increasing, and higher carbon dioxide concentrations indicate the initial stages of response from the H-1 and H-4 wells.

Pilotti näyttäisi toimivan. Prosessille on haettu patenttia, mutta onko tämä ratkaisuna riittävästi aiemmista poikkeava, jotta tuo myönnettäisiin.
Pilotti sitoi $30 miljoonan edestä pääomaa ja tuohon päälle kustannukset päivittäisestä hapen pumppaamisesta kenttään.

Wyoming Update

NiMin has drilled five new wells at the Ferguson Ranch Field in Wyoming since July. The State #12, #13, #14, #15 and #16 wells are at various stages of completion. The delay in completions is due to the limited availability of fracture stimulation equipment in the area. The wells are being drilled at or below estimated cost, and electric log results are consistent with the Company's expectations. In addition, NiMin has commenced a polymer treatment program at the Willow Draw Field. The first well treated, the #30-2, has seen oil production increase from 20 bopd to 96 bopd and water production decrease from 6,500 barrels per day to 1,176 barrels per day. NiMin's technical staff has identified four additional wells for polymer treatment at Willow Draw and is evaluating additional wells at the Company's three other Wyoming fields.

Ferguson Ranchin öljyntuotanto laski heinäkuussa alle tammikuun lukujen ja keskimääräinen päivätuotanto tuossa kuussa oli 182 tynnyriä per Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Ensimmäisen Niminin poraaman uuden kaivon kumulatiivinen tuotanto maaliskuusta heinäkuun loppuun on 3810 tynnyriä öljyä, jolloin keskim.tuotannoksi tulee n.29 tynnyriä päivä. Niminin mukaan keskimääräisen uuden kaivon tuotannon pitäisi laskea ensimmäisenä vuonna ~30% n.100 tynnyrin alkutuotantoluvusta(IP). Tämän uuden kaivon tuotanto on laskenut alle puolessa vuodessa 70% eli siis reilusti enemmän kuin on ennustettu. Yhtiön ennusteluvut ovat vaarallisen optimistisia.

Lihavoitu kohta frakkikaluston puutteesta on mielenkiintoinen sillä tämä näyttäisi olevan yleinen ongelma melkein kaikkialla Pohjois-Amerikassa tällä hetkellä ja monilla yhtiöillä on useita kaivoja porattuna odottamassa fraturointia. Painepumppaus bisneksellä lienevät siis hyvät näkymät tällä hetkellä. Aiheesta ehkä lisää myöhemmin.

Oxy-Cal

CC:stä liittyen Kalifornian löytöön:

"A significant portion of the domestic increase is from of our new discovery in Kern County California which we announced last quarter. In the new discovery area, we currently have gross production of approximately 26,000 BOE per day, which is 8,700 BOE per day more than we reported to you last quarter. We continued to be excited about OXY’s growth potential in California."

"Turning now to California exploration. Excluding the Kern County discovery discussed in last quarter’s conference call, over the course of a little over a year, we have drilled 34 exploration wells seeking non-traditional hydrocarbon zones in California. Of these wells, 11 are commercial and 10 are currently being evaluated. We expect to drill an additional seven exploration wells this year.

OXY holds $1.1 million acres net of fee minerals in leasehold in California, which had been acquired in the last few years to exploit these opportunities. Discoveries similar to the Kern County discovery are possible in this net acreage position. Additionally, we will continue to pursue shale production which is expected to produce oil on this acreage. Kern County discovery, which is near Elk Hills is not below any producing zones. In this area, we are currently producing some 10 wells, approximately 105 million cubic feet of gas a day and 8,500 barrels of liquids a day, which is 8,700 BOE a day higher than production than we disclosed last quarter."

Cumulative gross production since we started production to the end of September has been 8.5 BCF of gas and 765,000 barrels of liquids. All of these productions come from conventional zones. While there is oil production from shale zones in this area, the bulk of the future production will come from conventional wells.

During 2009, we expect to drill additional 11 wells. In the next two quarters, the focus of our drilling will be on oil wells as we seek to further define the oil zone.

"It varies considerably. We have some things that are making several thousand a day of oil, some wells that are less productive. So, few hundred barrels a day. So that's a fair amount of variation between well. And actually be a focusing on it over the next couple quarters so we can figure out what the better part are. It's a little more complicated than the gas zone, which is fairly easy to engineer."

California Black

Oxy makes find in California
"Occidental Petroleum has made a significant discovery of oil and gas reserves in Kern County, California.

Occidental believes there are between 150 million and 250 million gross barrels of oil equivalent reserves within the outlined area where Oxy has drilled six wells to date to delineate the discovery.

The multi-pay zone discovery area, whose areal geological extent is still being defined, has both conventional and unconventional pay zones, the company said in a statement..."

Semmoista. Ivanhoe Energy ilmoitti pari päivää sitten myyneensä Amerikan-toiminnot National Fuel Gasille. Nuo toiminnot sisälsivät pienimuotoista tuontantoa ja exploration-maata Kaliforniassa, samassa Kern Countyssa, jossa tuo Oxyn löydös on.
