AWDR:n sopimukselle Premier Oilin kanssa 140 päivän jatko

Awilco Drilling PLC has accepted a Letter of Award (LOA) from Premier Oil UK Limited relating to the 250 days of options in the contract announced on 7th May 2012. The total exercised option period will now extend until completion of the 2014 drilling program or 31st October 2014, whichever comes earlier, but will be not less than 140 days. The previously declared 70 days of this option has been extended to 80 days. The additional term of the option period will have a minimum value based on a 60 day duration of USD 26.6 million and a maximum value of USD 73.0 million. The exercised option period is expected to commence early March 2014. There are no further options under this contract.

"Chevron quits Lithuania shale gas exploration tender"

VILNIUS, Oct 8 (Reuters) - U.S. energy major Chevron has pulled out after winning a tender to explore for shale gas in Lithuania, blaming changes to laws which have made it less attractive.

 Chevron was the only bidder to explore for unconventional hydrocarbons in the 1,800 square km Silute-Taurage prospect. The government picked it as a winner a month ago.

 Mitä ilmeisimmin Liettuassa ei ole tarvetta uudelle öljyn tai kaasuntuotannolle. Kesän porauksen tuloksillakin on saattanut olla vaikutusta Chevronin päätökseen.

Shale gas driller asks France for 1 billion euro compensation

U.S.-based energy firm Schuepbach Energy is asking the French government for 1 billion euros ($1.36 billion) in compensation for blocking its shale gas exploration permits in France, an industry newsletter said on Friday, citing unnamed sources.

Olisi kiintoisaa tietää mihin vaaditttu summa perustuu: hatusta heitetty luku vaiko ihanko arvioon potentiaalisista reserveistä. Korvausvaateella pyritään kai vain painostamaan Ranskan hallitusta/valtiota muutoksiin lainsäädännön suhteen. Tuskin onnistuu.

Berge Gerdt Larsen dømt til fem års fengsel

Jos oikein ymmärrän niin Bergenin käräjäoikeus tuomitsi peräti kaksi ja puoli vuotta ehdotonta ja 3 miljoonan kruunun sakot veropetoksista. Syytteessä oli vaadittu myös petoksilla saatujen hyötyjen(31 miljoonaa kruunua) menettämistä Norjan valtiolle, mutta tuon osalta syyte ei menestynyt.

Syytteet koskivat Larsen Oil & Gasin(LOG) alihintaista osakkeiden luovutusta vuonna 2007 ja LOGin DNO:n osakkeiden myynnistä saamaa luovutusvoittoa vuodelta 2000.

Larsen-klusteriin kuulunut PetroMENA oli tuorein omistamani konkkaan mennyt yhtiö (sijoitettu summa oli sadan euron luokkaa ja konkkaan meno oli enemmän todennnäköisempää kuin ei ostohetkellä).
