Velkaa on vielä kohtuullisesti, mutta tase vahvistuu hyvää vauhtia ja yhtiön osinko on toistaiseki kestävällä pohjalla. Sektori on kuitenkin syklinen ja entry-kynnys matala.

AOI: tein pienen lisäyksen noin kuukausi sitten. Yhtiöllä eekkereitä Itä-Afrikassa on paljon, joten todennäköisyydet uusille löydöille Tullowin johdolla on kohtuulliset.

Konsensus näyttää olevan, että öljyn hinnat laskevat vielä hieman ja maakaasun nousevat hinnat nousevat myöskin hieman. Aika pitkälti jaan tämän näkemyksen. Vähän oudohko siirto Marinolta, kun vaihtaa yhtiön huipulta pienemmän yhtiön COO:ksi. VETin tj Donadeo on vain 5 vuotta Marinoa vanhempi, mutta kaipa hän on astumassa sivuun yhtiön johdosta vuoden tai parin sisään. Vermilionilta hyvä siirto. 


Jotkut arvelivat että olisi ollut menossa Nexenin pääpallinhaltijaksi, mutta ei.

ORDER OF A NEW HARSH ENVIRONMENT ULTRA-DEEPWATER SEMI SUBERSIBLE DRILLING RIG

A wholly owned subsidiary of Fred. Olsen Energy ASA has entered into a turnkey contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. for the building of a harsh environment ultra deepwater semi submersible drilling rig with scheduled delivery in March 2015. Total project cost is estimated to USD 700 million (including spare parts, owner furnished equipment and yard project team). Another subsidiary for Fred. Olsen Energy ASA has been granted an option from Hyundai for the purchase of a similar second drilling rig exercisable within October 2012.

SDRL - Seadrill Limited announces order of a new harsh environment semi-submersible drilling rig Hamilton, Bermuda, May 4, 2012 - To benefit from the current strong demand for high specification drilling units Seadrill is pleased to announce that it has entered into a turnkey construction contract with Hyundai Samho Shipyard for the construction of a new harsh environment semi-submersible drilling rig. The new rig will be a sister rig of the harsh environment semi-submersible unit Seadrill's subsidiary North Atlantic Drilling currently have under construction at Jurong Shipyard in Singapore. The new rig will be of a Moss CS60 design, N class compliant and be fully winterized to meet the harsh and demanding weather conditions in the North Atlantic areas. In addition, the new rig will have premium ultra deepwater capabilities including water depth of up to 10,000 feet. The new rig is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter 2014. Total estimated project costs is less than US$650 million including a turn key yard contract with a back-end loaded payment structure. In addition, Seadrill has agreed a fixed price option for one further unit from the yard. Seadrill has already received charter interest in the firm unit. With the strong demand Seadrill feels it is likely that the option will be exercised. However, a final decision will not be taken before August 2012.

Athabasca Oil Sands Corp. Provides First Quarter 2012 Results and Operational Update

Saxon/Placid Area


The Saxon/Placid area has become an increasingly important asset area, following the drilling and completion of a number of successful wells. The Duvernay and Montney formations are both prolific in the area. The company has drilled and completed four Montney and two Nordegg wells, drilled one Montney well, and has spudded one horizontal Duvernay well by the end of the first quarter of 2012. The results from the Montney well completions are above expectation, and the company is targeting Montney deliverability rates in the Saxon/Placid area to be similar to those at its Kaybob property.






The first quarter 2012 success in Saxon/Placid is highlighted by the results of the 04-28-60-23W5 well, located in the southernmost portion of the area. The 04-28 well targeted a lower zone in the Montney Formation than was tested in the offsetting 102/13-33-60-23W5 well. The 4-28 well results prove that this second zone is a separate formation and that it's highly productive and present over a large area. The 1,329 metre, 04-28 lateral well was hydraulically fractured with 15 stages of energized oil treatments, and was flow tested over seven days with a final rate of over 950 boe/d (600 bbl/d of 44° API oil with 3.0 mmcf/d gas at a stabilized flowing pressure of 650 psig). The company believes that this new Montney zone has the potential to double the Montney inventory in the area.


A second well 100/03-11-062-23W5M was drilled and completed with a 1,222 metre lateral fractured with 14 stages of energized oil treatments. Although the 03-11 well flow test was cut short due to surface access restrictions associated with spring break-up, the well was flowing 1,720 boe/d (1500 bbl/d of light oil (43° API) and 1.3 mmcf/d of natural gas) at a stabilized flowing tubing pressure of 850 psig at the end of the 54-hour flow period.

Duvernay

Athabasca's horizontal well at 102/07-18-064-17W5 is the first reported horizontal Duvernay oil well in the Province of Alberta. The 1,237 metre horizontal leg in 07-18 was completed with a 12 stage, 100 tonne per stage completion and over a 16-day period, the well produced approximately 6,100 bbls of 44° API oil. The 07-18 well tested at a final rate of 650 boe/d which was comprised of 390 barrels per day (bbl/d) of oil and 1.5 million cubic feet per day (mmcf/d) of gas flowing up 2 7/8-inch tubing. At Kaybob, Athabasca owns approximately 225 net sections of Duvernay rights (Kaybob East and West) which exhibit more than 20 metres of net pay.

Our fifth North American resource play is located in Northern Alberta, the Muskwa oil play. So far, we have an accumulated 170,000 net acres in our first well flowed light oil with initial production rate in the 50 to 100 barrel a day range. This is somewhat encouraging, and we are looking to put that well on pump for further evaluation. It is still early days for us, and we are planning to drill another well later this year to continue testing the play and our completion techniques.

 In Southern Alberta, we continue to see positive results from our first well completed in the Three Forks zone, with production rates now over 400 barrels of oil per day of light oil, a well that has been producing over 120 days. We have fixed the wax buildup in that well and have been rewarded with these higher rates, a promising sign for this area. We have just completed our second well on the same zone and are monitoring initial production results. With this encouragement, I expect to step up activity here this year.
