Berge Gerdt Larsen dømt til fem års fengsel

Jos oikein ymmärrän niin Bergenin käräjäoikeus tuomitsi peräti kaksi ja puoli vuotta ehdotonta ja 3 miljoonan kruunun sakot veropetoksista. Syytteessä oli vaadittu myös petoksilla saatujen hyötyjen(31 miljoonaa kruunua) menettämistä Norjan valtiolle, mutta tuon osalta syyte ei menestynyt.

Syytteet koskivat Larsen Oil & Gasin(LOG) alihintaista osakkeiden luovutusta vuonna 2007 ja LOGin DNO:n osakkeiden myynnistä saamaa luovutusvoittoa vuodelta 2000.

Bergens Tidendessä pitempi juttu tapauksesta.

Larsen-klusteriin kuulunut PetroMENA oli tuorein omistamani konkkaan mennyt yhtiö (sijoitettu summa oli sadan euron luokkaa ja konkkaan meno oli enemmän todennnäköisempää kuin ei ostohetkellä).

PetroMena was offered 640 million for the same rig in last August, that is almost 200 million or 42% more than the new offer is worth. Management doesn't get much worse than this.
So who is the buyer? Diamond Offshore is a likely candidate as DO's President and CEO Larry Dickerson told Bloomberg earlier this week that they are interested in buying assets from distressed companies. The Indians are another candidate, but my bet is on DO. The price to be paid is very low and the buyer(whoever that is) is getting a real bargain.
