Meglerhuset Morgan Stanley skriver i en oppdatering søndag at de har gjennomført møter med ledelsen i flere riggselskaper, deriblant Seadrill, hvor det er blitt uttrykt trygghet for at riggratene i ultradypvannsegmentet vil overstige 500.000 dollar per dag i andre halvår 2011...

Porauspamput siis meinaavat että tämän vuoden toisella puoliskolla saatetaan mennä taas yli $500k. Kuten alla oleva taulukko näyttää kovinkaan paljon kapasiteettia ei ole vapaana tämän vuoden puolella, mutta vuonna 2012 vapaita aluksia on rutkasti. Epäilen suuresti että mentäisiin yli tuon mainitun rajan.



Taulukko on DRYSin viime viikkoisen Analyst Dayn presentaatiosta. Tuossa presentaatiossa mainitaan että Brasilian vesillä sijaitsevan Tupi-kentän tuoreimman kaivon poraus kesti 156 päivää, joten yksi alus pystyy poraamaan noin 2.3 kaivo per vuosi. Koko kentän kehittäminen vaatii 200 kaivoa, joten pelkästään tuo kenttä voisi työllistää 13% maailman UDW-aluskapasiteetista(kenttä on toki poikkeuksellisen suuri). Noin $500k dr:llä pelkän porauksen kustannuksiksi tulee melkein $80 miljoonaa ja tuohon päälle tulevat tietysti tukialuksien ja muiden palveluiden kulut. Tupi talteensaatavan resurssin koooksi on arvioitu 5-8 miljardia tynnyriä, joten reservit per kaivo olisivat 25-40 miljoonaan tynnyriä. Isoja lukuja.

FIRST APPRAISAL WELL CONFIRMS EXTENSION OF THE AVALDSNES FIELD

Lundin Norway AS (Lundin Norway) a wholly owned subsidiary of Lundin Petroleum AB (Lundin Petroleum) is pleased to announce that the first appraisal well, 16/3-4 has confirmed the extension of the Avaldsnes field to the south-east of the 16/2-6 discovery well in PL501 on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). The well was successfully tested and a comprehensive logging and coring program has been acquired.

Avaldsnes was confirmed as an oil discovery by the Lundin Norway operated well 16/2-6 in 2010 and is located approximately 25 km east of the Lundin Norway operated Luno discovery.

The first appraisal well 16/3-4 was drilled approximately 6.5 km south-east of the discovery well and has proved an oil column of 13,5 meters in excellent quality sandstone of Jurassic age. A high net to gross has resulted in net pay at the appraisal location in excess of that at the discovery well. The data acquired confirms excellent reservoir properties, with average porosity of approximately 30 percent and multi-Darcy permeability. The average production rate was in excess of 5,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day through a restricted choke size of 60/64 inch...

BANGALORE - Increasing pressure for U.S. shale gas drillers to clean up their act from hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” has opened a new revenue stream for companies that treat waste water and make water filters.

The technique of blasting water, chemicals and sand thousands of feet into tight rock formations to release trapped natural gas has boosted production from shale fields, but is criticized by environmentalists for polluting groundwater.

State regulators have not gone as far as some environmental groups want — a ban on hydraulic fracturing — but they do want drillers to improve the treatment of harmful waste water from their operations.

And this is welcome new business for the likes of Nalco Holding, Canada’s Aqua-Pure Ventures, Pall Corp, Pentair and Clean Harbors.

Ecosphere Technologies, General Electric, Siemens and Veolia Environnement are also vying for a share of the waste water cleanup market...

Colombia leader may expel foreign oil contractor

BOGOTA, June 20 (Reuters) - Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos on Monday threatened to expel an unnamed foreign oil services contractor if the government verifies that the firm bowed to demands for extortion payments from an unidentified illegal armed group.

"We have received information that a contractor of an oil company apparently paid extortion money," Santos said. "If we confirm that information ... then we're going to get that company out of the country."

"It is a foreign company," he said of the contractor, which he declined to identify. He also did not name the company the contractor was working for...
