Fram framille

Piceance Basin
Fram is the operator of the Whitewater Federal Production Unit; located in the Piceance Basin in Mesa and Delta Counties, Colorado, USA. The Whitewater lease totals 90,445-acres and is the largest in the State of Colorado. Within that unit, Fram is 95% leaseholder of 54,000 acres.

Williston Basin
Fram holds leases totaling 10,863 acres in the Renville County, North Dakota section of the Williston Basin. This basin has experienced renewed interest in the past decade. Although recent focus has been on the Bakken Formation, Fram believes that significant crude oil reserves can be produced from the Madison Mission Canyon Formation.

Renegade Petroleumilta lainattu kartta, johon sutaisin Funken:

Arsenal Energyllä on pieni pläntti oikeuksia Framin maiden länsipuolella(n. 15 mailia länteen).

America's next top shale play(?)

Skriptistä:
Subash Chandra - Jefferies & Company, Inc.

The slides you had, the other zones in Williston Basin and you can do some work there, which of those zones would you say are sort of continuous-type reservoirs and which ones do you think might be discrete?

Jeffery Larson

This is Jeff. The Scallion, I think is going to be variable. We're very excited about the upside in the Scallion. It's basal Lodgepole. It's perfectly positioned. It's got a world-class source rock, the upper Bakken Shale right underneath it. So all you need is fractures or any enhanced porosity that's going to charge.

We'll see in a couple of quarters, and we like what we see. I've got the guys mapping it across the basin. I think it's got resource potential. I don't think -- I think it's going to be in the sweet spot.

Some of the other reservoirs, we're starting to really dial in on some of these other opportunities in the basin. We're looking at Miscu [ph], Dubro [ph], a whole wealth of different intervals. A number of those are stratigraphic in nature.

The other one that's got us intrigued, and you've heard of the North Dakota Industrial Commission talk about it, is the Heath/Tyler section. And that's shallower. It's about 8,500 and 9,000 feet. It's Pennsylvanian age, and it's got a group of source rocks, shales, not unlike the Bakken Shale, intermingled with sandstones that have variable porosity. And I think you'll see us core that this year. And we're getting good shows in our wells. I think you'll see us is core it in McKenzie County. And that could be a much more blanket-type resource play in the future.

Does that Heath -- does that change a whole lot from the Central Montana Heath?

Jeffery Larson

Yes, it's a different animal. It looks different to us.

OBS! Scallion ei ole shale, joten otsikko on harhaan johtava.

Below the Bakken

Bismarck Tribune: Beyond the Bakken
"Dozens of fruitful wells beneath the rich Bakken shale in North Dakota continue to fuel a hunch among oilmen and geologists that another vast crude-bearing formation may be buried in the state's vast oil patch.

Lynn Helms, director of the state Department of Mineral Resources, said recent production results from 103 newly tapped wells in the Three Forks-Sanish formation show many that are "as good or better" than some in the Bakken, which lies two miles under the surface in western North Dakota and holds billions of barrels of oil."

"State and industry officials are conducting a study to determine whether the Three Forks is a unique reservoir. The plan is to compare results from closely spaced wells, one aiming for the Three Forks, and the other at the Bakken. Researchers will look at pressure changes in the formations to determine if they are connected.

Results from the study could be ready later this year, officials say. It already is spurring some speculation that the state has billions of barrels more in oil reserves."

"Eventually, it could equal the Bakken, which is remarkable, and that's an understatement," Helms said"

"Kelso, of Whiting Petroleum, said his company's drilling activity shows that Three Forks likely is a separate formation. He said core samples taken from the Bakken and Three Forks show more hydrocarbons in the latter."

"From the core samples, Three Forks looks better for us than the Bakken," he said.

Promising production results from the Three Forks could mean that companies that come up empty in the Bakken could use existing leases to drill in the same area for Three Forks oil."

Kessel believes that not all of the Three Forks is laden with oil.

"Right now, we're doing Bakken, and in those areas it doesn't look like the Three Forks is going to work," he said.

"With Three Forks, you have got to find a sweet spot where it develops," Kessel said. "It is not sandwiched like the Bakken between two shales producing oil."
